Alex’s Supreme SEO Checklist
(Rated PG 13)
Hi, I’m Alex, I was once a person like you, happy, with hopes and dreams, then I got into SEO and now my life is a living hell. I hope this fast and effective checklist will help you increase the power of your website, so you can slay your competition swiftly and brutally as I am forced to every day. Note, this is not EVERYTHING you need to be successful at SEO, but it’s more than enough to beat most businesses out there. I find sticking to the basics works, and I couldn’t sell my services if I gave away everything now, could I?
This is a picture of how I looked when I was human and had more hair, now I lurk in the underworld, eating fish and cursing nasty filthy hobbitses. I can do the voice now, it’s frightening. Such will be your fate if you spend as much time delving into SEO as I do. This is a sim

Wordpress Easymode Plugins
I recommend installing Autoptimize, (you can just activate this one and let it do it’s thing.) Robin Image Optimizer, (Optimize your images, then let it do it’s thing.) Yoast (Make sure you get your XML sitemap generated. You’ll need this later.) Once you’ve got these puppies ready to go, you’ll be on your way to a fast effective site. Remember the more plugins, javascript and junk you dunk in your site, the more sad you will be when it is slowed down to a crawl and Google notices and slaps you. Autoptimize and Robin should help keep your site fast. It also pays to have decent hosting, but even supremely cheap hosting located on Mars can be adapted to be functional.
Google Analytics and Search Console Installation
Google will give you all the information you need to install Analytics and Search Console. Take your sitemap and add it to Search Console so Google can crawl your site effectively. Check through Search Console on occasion and make sure your site is getting indexed properly. WordPress also allows Google Site Kit, which makes everything a little easier, but also performs like a 50 year old horse after drinking too much Pabst Blue Ribbon.
On Page Optimisations
All pages need a meta description. If this isn’t provided, meta data will be crafted by the search engine. Make sure you don’t have more than 1 H1 Header. Add descriptive text for images. Try not to overuse keywords. I recommend 750 words for each page, and make sure to use your business name at least once but no more than 5 times on any page.
Blog Often
Two types of blog, 1, short blogs of 300-500 words, these are for social media only and won’t show up on Google. They’re evergreen content, that won’t expire and will help drive social traffic.
If you want to make good blogs, they generally need to be a little or a lot more than 1000 words. I’m able to compete with Yell, the biggest UK directory with my blog on Information about Yell’s services. It’s over 4000 words and contains a tonne of video content.
Blog often, at least once a week. This will help your site rank, as it will be obvious that you’re doing updates, as Google Search Console is gonna be helping crawl that sitemap.
This is just scraping the surface of what you can achieve in regards to SEO, however if you’re a small business owner, 99% of people will not be doing any of this stuff, so you’ll get the drop on them. If you’re interested in us doing some SEO work for you, let us know!
